Peer Recovery Coach
Jess was previously employed at Ridgeline Youth Crisis Center as a Behavioral Support Specialist; Jess has gained extensive knowledge on how to effectively support individuals in crisis. On May 1st, 2021, she joined Tucker County Community Corrections as a Peer Recovery Coach, bringing her own experience as a person in long-term recovery to her role. Jess's commitment to her profession was evident as she transitioned from a Peer Recovery Coach to a Peer Recovery Coach Professional. She received this certification through GRaCE (Greater Recovery and Community Empowerment). After a year of employment, Jess decided to further her education by becoming a Licensed Peer Recovery Support Specialist on September 24th, 2022. She is now well-equipped to facilitate Tucker County Community Corrections groups as well as provide one-on-one support services. Jess has a passion for understanding the criminal and addictive brain, which led her to continue her education at Blueridge Community Technical College. She graduated with her associate degree in criminal justice with a certification as a Community Corrections Specialist in May 2024. Jess enjoys serving her community as Tucker County Celebrate Recovery's Assistant Ministry leader and Training Coach.
