During that time in 2005, Amy became a WV Licensed Professional Counselor and is also an Approved Licensed Professional Supervisor. In 2018 she became a full-time therapist with Tucker Day Report where she directed the establishment of their current behavioral health program and has been with them ever since. Amy also served as president of the Tucker County Community Corrections board from 2014-2018. Amy has a passion for those struggling with substance abuse issues and due to a lack of support groups in her community, she established a Celebrate Recovery program in 2017 and has served as the ministry leader since that date. Amy has also taken on the role of Celebrate Recovery State Representative, helping others in the state to establish these programs in their local communities. In addition, Amy has a desire to help those who have experienced trauma which led her to complete her basic training requirement in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy in August 2021 and in December of 2022 became a certified EMDR therapist. In 2023-2024, Tucker Day Report engaged in a pilot program for Sexual Offenders across the state of WV. Amy directed the development of this program and received extensive training in working with this population and is now a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider.
